About the Newport Beach, California Area  Newport Beach is located between Huntington Beach to the North and Corona Del Mar to the South. Balboa Island and Balboa Peninsula have a ferry to get back and forth that also drops at the Balboa Island Fun Zone. On the Peninsula side of Balboa Island is the famous "Wedge" a body-boarding hot spot. The Catalina Flyer also provides transportation to and from Catalina Island from the location.
Not only did the show "The OC" increase the Newport beach visitor rate but also did another MTV show which still airs "Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County" which many of the sites on the show are a good depiction of Newport Beach and the Mecca of luxury ocean view and oceanfront homes Newport Beach offers.
